On-Campus Release Request to Open

The On-Campus Release Request process for the 2025-2026 academic year will open on Thursday, April 17 at 7:30 a.m. There is no set close date at this time. Students wishing to submit a release request can do so using the On Campus Release Request form. If you have any questions, please contact University Housing Services at (309) 438-8611.

Residence Halls Closing Date and Move-Out Information

On Saturday, May 10 at 2 p.m., all residence halls and on-campus apartments will close for the summer. Exceptions may be made for residents participating in commencement ceremonies. For additional information, including a move-out to-do list, visit the Move-Out page of our website.

Important Dates

 

  • Spring Break

    • Watterson Towers, Wright & Haynie Halls
      close on Saturday, March 8 at 2 p.m.
      and reopen on Sunday, March 16 at 2 p.m.
    • All other halls and on-campus apartments will remain open.
    • Students: check your e-mail for additional details and instructions as we get closer to these dates.
  • End of Spring Semester

    • Saturday, May 10 | All residential areas will close at 2 p.m.

With the spring semester nearing its end, University Housing Services is pleased to announce this term’s recipients of the Resident Assistant (RA) Scholarship award. The RA Scholarship is presented to resident assistants (RAs) who exemplify success in the classroom and the RA leadership role. This semester, four $500 academic scholarships were awarded to exceptional students.

Dismount zones, pedestrian safety, miscommunication concerns explained

On Feb. 22, Illinois State University’s Academic Senate passed a policy implementing dismount zones on campus to provide safer conditions for pedestrians.
