Summer Housing at Illinois State University

  Summer Housing is now available at Illinois State University with flexible options to fit your needs. Guests may choose weekly contracts or stay for the full summer, and enrollment in summer classes is not required. This housing option is ideal for interns, conference guests, researchers, and others who need short-term or extended summer accommodations.

Move-Out 2026

  • Saturday, May 9 | All halls and on-campus apartments close for the summer at 2 p.m.

Move-In

  • Tuesday, August 11 - Saturday, August 15

Fall Break

  • Saturday, November 21 | Watterson, Wright, & Haynie close at 2 p.m.
  • Sunday, November 29 | Watterson, Wright, & Haynie reopen at 2 p.m.
  • Hewett Hall, Manchester Hall, Wilkins Hall, Cardinal Court, and Fell/School remain open throughout the break.

Winter Break

  • Saturday, December 12 | Watterson, Wright, & Haynie close at 2 p.m.
  • Friday, January 8, 2027 | Watterson, Wright, & Haynie reopen at 8 a.m.
  • Hewett Hall, Manchester Hall, Wilkins Hall, Cardinal Court, and Fell/School remain open throughout the break.

Spring Break

  • Saturday, March 6, 2027 | Watterson, Wright, & Haynie close at 2 p.m.
  • Sunday, March 14, 2027 | Watterson, Wright, & Haynie reopen at 2 p.m.
  • Hewett Hall, Manchester Hall, Wilkins Hall, Cardinal Court, and Fell/School remain open throughout the break.

Dismount zones, pedestrian safety, miscommunication concerns explained

On Feb. 22, Illinois State University’s Academic Senate passed a policy implementing dismount zones on campus to provide safer conditions for pedestrians.
